In this week's batch (December 2): Chanel quilted and hobo handbags, Ferragamo white leather vintage convertible bag, 1930s felted brown fedora hat, newer designer items by Dries van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Commes des Garcons, Marni, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen (NWT!), Versace cadet jacket, and moooore!
In this batch: 70s Chanel, 70s Gucci, Hermes, 70s Geoffrey Beene, 70s Calvin Klein, and more!
I'm shopping in Los Angeles (it's true that nobody walks here, but everybody shops, so I fit right in!) and finding lots of treasures - Hermés scarves, vintage Gucci, Chanel, Armani, and Dior - and LOTS of amazing one-of-a-kind vintage!
Here are a few shots of me enjoying myself in my time off (which isn't much, as it turns out!)

Please join us on Saturday, June 18th for our first ever LOT SALE!

We are in the beginning stages of planning a Violetville Pop-Up Shop! For those unfamiliar, a Pop-Up Shop is a temporary in-person retail shop set up just for a few months.
Since I love to travel, I thought it would be fun to set up a shop in a fun location...

Will it be Paris?
Hey Ladies, Quick question for you: how much would you spend on a handbag? What kind of bag does it have to be for you to spend a lot? (i.e. what are your primary concerns/requirements?)
I have an amazing Mulberry bag that I feel like I would spend anything to replace. It's the perfect carry-on bag for trips, and it doubles as my purse while I'm away. It carries anything and everything and can handle a ton of weight. Plus it has pockets! So, every picture you see of me while I'm away has my Mulberry bag somewhere in it!
Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Feel free to email me if it's easier :)
I have been obsessed with this particular style lately that I'm still trying to put my finger on - it's part whimsy/fairytale/fantasy and part dutch schoolgirl. It's the reason why I've been feverishly stocking up on Swedish Hasbeens and stalking Icelandic designers.
It's embodied, at least in part, by the spectator platform pumps and bizarre, carnivalesque mash-up fashion of Bernhard Willhelm Fall 2010 RTW:

We had the pleasure to meet recently with Andrea (AJ) Avery of The Procrastination File. As a gallery manager/event planner and mixed media artist, Andrea has her proverbial plate overflowing with creative projects. I'm drooling over the fashion-related artwork on homepage/art-site at AJAvery.com, and the Procrastination File constantly drags me in for a quick daily fix of something creative, bizarre or just plain interesting.
Andrea trolled through our racks, picked out her favorite Violetville finds, and shared with us what interested her about them. Check out her choices:
A few things to keep you all up to date with what's going on at Violetville!
Meet Jennifer Johung. I was first introduced to her at Blush, a specialty makeup boutique. The location was entirely fitting. To describe Jennifer as ultra feminine would be an understatement. I've never seen this lady in pants, only dresses. Her hair and makeup are always perfect. It's inspiring, really, in today's age of leggings and bed head. However, this lovely woman is not just a pretty package. She's a wicked smart professor and soon-to-be author. I wish I would have had her as a teacher so we could have discussed pop art and the pros and cons of the nautical fashion trend. She's got it all, that girl. Brains and beauty.
Meet Amanda Tollefson. I had always seen her about town and knew of her as the cool, arsty girl. When I was finally introduced to her, I learned she is a cool, artsy girl. But, Amanda is also wicked smart, super sweet, and an organizing machine. Plus, she has a truly unique sense of style in a land of Urban Outfitters drones. Yeah, Amanda is awesome.
