A grueling day was spent yesterday producing and completing a Violetville photo shoot. Shot at The Gobbler, a now defunct roadside supper club in Johnson Creek, WI, the boss of it all and I braved dust, mold, and grime to capture some pretty amazing images. Penelope Tree. Maybe the best name ever. Certainly one of the best models ever.
The famed 60s model has a unique look. Gangly, big eyes, and strong bone structure made her the face of the flower power era. It is written, “There are fashion observers who now say that she was a pioneer - she changed the notion of beauty and, like Kate Moss for this generation, brought her own sense of style to the party that other people copied.” Women’s Wear Daily even named her as the face of the 1960s.
