I love the color camel. When I see the shade, I immediately think of chic Burberry trench coats and the winter coats of Park Avenue ladies. Camel instantly creates an air of sophistication. It also grounds brightly colored outfits. Unfortunately, camel makes me look jaundice, so I suffer from camel envy. When I saw the Madame Figaro Greece editorial below, my jealousy skyrocketed. Every outfit is perfect, especially the full skirted coat. The shades of camel are incredibly chic and inspiring. Please, if you can wear the color, do it! I'll be resentful, but you'll look fabulous!
I have never really believed in astrology. Whenever I read my horoscope, it says that I should expect to meet a handsome stranger and prepare for trip. But, I never experience the predictions by the end of the month. As a Sagittarius, I am destined to be adventurous, independent, and restless. Ha! I love routine, adore being a homebody, and am suspicious of anything "new." Whoops! Nevertheless, I'll admit astrology is an interesting and entertaining study. Especially when it's captured so charmingly by photographer Tim Gutt in "Star Signs" (Vogue UK, December 2010.) Absolutely gorgeous!
I almost screamed when I saw the editorial "Like A Movie" in Vogue Italia's September 2010 issue. Starring model Elisa Sednaoui and photographed by Miles Aldridge, the 1962 thriller Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? is perfectly captured. When I first saw this movie I was terrified. Bette Davis is Jane, a washed up child's star, "taking care" of her paralyzed sister Blanche, played by Joan Crawford, who eclipsed her in fame as an adult. What makes their onscreen murderous rivalry more delicious is the fact that the stars despised each other in real life. Jane's oversized doll look is incredibly creepy and well done by Aldridge. Take a look at the editorial and rent the film!
