Disaster Strikes

As we reunited on our couple days off things got a little crazy. Crazy as in moving out of our hostel and into (many) other spaces. Think hauling more than fifty pounds of luggage around New York City...not fun. As we tried to stay calm the fact that we were going to have mental break downs at any point was severely concerning. Trying to stay calm in the mist of this we parted ways, Courtney into a hotel for the night with her boyfriend and myself to Megan's apartment. When we were settled a much needed "chill" night was had. The next day was another day off and it was when everything went down the tubes.

I was out of Megan's apartment by 10:30 am and on my way to Courtney's hotel where the check out time was noon. This won us a little bit of time before we were totally stranded with no place to go...literally. Trying to fill time we got breakfast and made our way to the Met. This is when the snow started to fall, HARD. By the time we made it to the art museum we were no less than human versions of wet sewer rats, not pretty. After total exhaustion and a few fights and tears later we were still waiting on Joe Dimaggio (our friend who also worked many of the same shows we did) to let us know when we could make our way over to his house for the next couple nights. We retrieved our luggage from the hotel lobby and headed to Penn Station to make a long (REALLY long, annoying, confusing, dumb) and interesting journey to Glen Cove to Joe's house. Upon arrival the only thing that kept our sprits up was a newly discovered LOVE and unhealthy addiction to DJ Hero. Seriously, the soundtrack is genius.

Us fake smiling while getting drenched with snow...

Capturing the depressing weather in front of the Met

To sum it up, Joe was totally nice and accommodating, but the warm huge bed and dj hero wasn't worth the trip and hassle. I guess the true lesson learned was: in New York City stay in ONE place to avoid total loss of your sanity.
